The under 10 age group is the first year where all aspects
of the game are contested and, therefore, presents new challenges and new
skills to learn.
From a coaching point of view the emphasis is still on fun
and hopefully as coaches we will be able to develop sessions that are enjoyable
for the players, but practice the essential skills without them knowing it!
At the start of the this season we welcomed a majority of
“old hands” as well as a number of new players. The squad as a whole
have got on well together and have made good progress with their skills and
general awareness of the game.
The squad has the potential to produce a very good team, but
will have a step learning curve at the beginning of the season.
